On Friday, June 10th, one of our primary students claimed his spot in Village School history by being a construction worker for the day. This 2016 Auction prize was won by a family who knew their son would love to live his dream of driving a real life digger. The whole school cheered the 3 year old student as he broke ground in “The Big Dig” on the Prospect Street side of the school.
“The Big Dig” kicks off the final phase of renovation at The Village School – Project Innovation. This third part of the capital campaign plans to furnish and upgrade the newly constructed spaces in the school to make them state of the art.
New spaces including a full size gymnasium, family-friendly office spaces, a professional kitchen, Upper Elementary classroom, and a multi-purpose project room are complete and have been in use for over a year. As the new library/media center, health office, and makerspace rooms are finished, Project Innovation will be working to supply them with modular furniture, top of the line computers for technology and coding classes, audio/visual equipment for the new student run A/V club, upgraded health office furnishings, and the latest STEM products for the makerspace.
