History of Lights
Throughout the 3-year cycle in the Lower Elementary program, students learn about different fundamental needs of humans. This year students have been exploring the History of Lighting, starting from the sun and fire, to oil lamps and gas lamps, all the way to the space solar power station. Part of this study includes works that allow students to interact with real examples or replicas, as well as four-part cards for the name, picture, information, and date of the different Lighting tools. The students see how something we may take for granted now by simply flipping a switch was actually born out of a true fundamental need of humans and has been developed over time and is still evolving.
