Throughout the School's history, parent involvement has played an integral role in the School's growth and development. The School serves as a resource for both the families and students by providing programs for all members of its community. As a result, the families, students, and faculty of The Village School have created a very special community.
The parent body is best characterized as a highly organized, motivated group involved in all levels of their children's education. The geographical location of The Village School is not a critical factor, as families travel from 32 towns in 3 counties within a 30-mile radius of the school.

Involvement of our parents in all aspects of School life is a central tenant of our philosophy. Parents are encouraged to observe classes, participate in school activities, attend development events, and support growth in the School's capabilities.
Primary channels for organized involvement are as follows:
The Parent Association is deeply involved in planning special School events and activities, such as the Harvest Festival, the Book Fair, teacher appreciation luncheons, and social events for parents.
The Room Parent Network organizes activities for parents and children that provide our families opportunities to be part of a larger community comprising families living in different towns throughout the region.
Parent Involvement
Furthermore, various services are regularly donated by parents. Parents provide their expertise to the School in many ways, serving as a pool of expert resources for both classroom and administrative needs. This hands-on involvement creates a close, family atmosphere which unifies the School community and enables it to maintain its intimate "small school" feeling, even as the School continues to grow. This shared commitment to providing and modeling cooperation and respect is at the heart of the School's success.
These channels for parent involvement not only add a great deal to the capabilities of the School, they also provide wonderful opportunities for parents to engage in the School's life and community.
